which can be described as development focused on public transportation

The CMM favours development called “TOD”

TOD involves:

  • A train or public-transit station (Bois-Franc station)
  • Intensive, medium- and high-density development (Le Quartier)
  • Mixed use (businesses of the Faubourg Bois-Franc have residences layered above)
  • New trends prioritize “active transportation”: walking, non-motorized transport and comfortable pedestrian access to commercial and residential sectors as well as public transport.

  • Le Quartier, a new phase of the residential Bois-Franc project, is a perfect example of TOD.
