Sotramont has been recognized with the LEED® Homes Power Builder title – becoming the first and only Canadian builder to receive this title.
Last September, Sotramont earned the prestigious LEED Homes Power Builder title for 2016. For developers and builders, the LEED for Homes certification demonstrates a remarkable commitment to high performance in environmental and energy efficiency.
While the minimum requirement is 90% LEED-certified residential projects, Sotramont sets itself apart by having 100% of its projects certified, on top of being the first and only Canadian builder to receive this title. The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has been issuing this recognition since 2015 to honor those who have set new standards for sustainability and quality in the construction industry.
“Sotramont is a builder dedicated to sustainability and performance, and until now they did not have the corporate recognition they deserved. The LEED Power Builder title is a great accomplishment,” confirmed Emmanuel Cosgrove, General Manager of Écohabitation and Senior LEED Canada Appraiser for Homes, with enthusiasm. “If there’s a Quebec builder who deserves this title, it’s Sotramont!”
